About the NGO

The Duchenne Somriures Valents team is made up of family and friends affected by Duchenne muscular dystrophy. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), in an organized and voluntary manner. Our mission is to improve the quality of life and well-being of those living with DMD by providing comprehensive support, promoting awareness and driving advances in research. Through collaborative efforts and a compassionate approach, we at Duchenne Somriures Valents aim to create a supportive community and contribute to research, keeping hope in the development of effective treatments and therapies for DMD, our only chance for our braves.

Somos una asociación sin ánimo de lucro formada por padres y amigos de niños con distrofia muscular de Duchenne y Becker. La distrofia muscular de duchenne es una enfermedad infantil degenerativa y que a día de hoy no tiene cura. Los niños pierden su fuerza muscular conforme van creciendo, y todos sus músculos se debilitan hasta que necesitan una silla de ruedas para poder caminar. Recaudamos fondos para la investigación, tratamiento y manejo de la enfermedad. Nuestros fondos van destinados a la Unidad de Patología Neuromuscular del Hospital de Sant Joan de Deu de Barcelona.
