We did it! No injuries, no penalties and all within a respectable time, and we have the photos to prove it 😊. It was tough, but it was worth it and we may even consider signing up for another one! What we are most grateful is for though, is your generosity! We aimed for 500€ and thanks to each one of you we have raised 2650€ to support people living with Butterly Skin. Thank you! We did not want to let you down, and your support really carried us through, especially during those final wall balls!
A special thanks to our personal trainers, Alberto de GOFit Vallehermoso and Matias from STG Fitness Club in Barcelona, who have supported us every step of the way and have been instrumental in getting us across the finish line with (some) dignity left 😊.

A few months ago, we voluntarily signed up for HYROX, the most similar thing to hell on earth.
For those of you who know us, you will agree we are much more into lifting glasses (Veuve 🥂) than lifting weights 🏋️♀️, so… why put ourselves through this ordeal? (8 km + 8 workout stations that look like they were designed by the Navy SEALs).
Well… because we like challenges; because we wanted to lower our cholesterol levels (so far so good on this goal); because we wanted to lose weight (this is not happening... yet); and because any excuse is a good excuse to see each other… and practice some glass lifting along the way.
But all our effort had to be for a higher purpose. That is why we have decided to raise funds for a disease very close to Cristina: butterfly skin disease, or Epidermolysis Bullosa, through DEBRA Spain. This association not only funds research but also supports families living with this rare and currently incurable condition.
It would mean the world to us if you helped us raise funds for DEBRA. That way, with every burpee and with every wall ball, when we think “WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?!”, we will think of your support and of the children and families living with this disease and this will give us strength to keep going.
With our HYROX, we want to do our small part to raise awareness, support research, and help future treatments become a reality.

Imagine not being able to hug your baby because you are afraid of hurting it. Because it was born with a rare genetic condition called Epidermolysis bullosa (EB) also known as Butterfly Skin. An incurable condition that causes blisters and wounds with the slightest touch. The skin is as fragile as the wings of a butterfly. DEBRA, the Butterfly Children Charity is a non-profit organization that works to improve the quality of life of those affected and their families.
