WE CAN ALL BE HEROES - cardioprotection training for students

In Europe, 350,000 people a year suffer sudden death due to cardiac arrest (the arrest can be caused by SAMS or by other types of pathologies affecting the heart). In Spain, the number of sudden deaths is about 30,000 per year.

Eighty percent of these sudden deaths occur outside hospital centers, and usually in the company of a family member, friend or work colleague. The survival of these people depends on two major factors: the early performance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers (CPR) and rapid access to defibrillation.

SAMS is working to ensure that public spaces (schools, offices, workplaces) are cardioprotected, i.e. that they have a defibrillator and people who know how to react in the event of cardiac arrest, identifying it, performing CPR and using the defibrillator correctly. 

This Christmas, we have a wish: to be able to turn 500 students of 1st Bachillerato and formative cycles into heroes capable of saving lives with their own hands.

To do this, we need to raise 3000€ to cover the costs of professional instructors accredited by the CCR (Consell Català de Resssucitació).
