Humbled by the support received so far and with our goal almost within reach, today we embark on the last and most exciting chapter of a story we have been writing together: the story of a home for the 48 boys and girls of Hope House in Kabezi, Burundi. This journey began with an urgent need to transform their lives, and thanks to the incredible generosity of hundreds of people, it is now just a small step away from becoming a reality.
Many of you will remember how it all began. We came across Hope House, a community center that was home to 48 youngsters, aged between 3 and 18, living in extremely precarious conditions. They were in a rented, dark, difficult-to-access space, without basic services like electricity or drinking water. Beds were insufficient and in poor condition, kitchen utensils were scarce, and the specter of rent debt constantly loomed over them, as they had already suffered the trauma of a previous eviction. In a country marked by extreme poverty and an alarming rate of child malnutrition, their future hung by a very fragile thread.
But in the face of adversity, we decided to act. And we didn't do it alone; we did it with you! In our first campaign, "Building a Future for the Orphans of Burundi," we managed to cover their most pressing needs: we bought new beds and mattresses so they could sleep with dignity, equipped their kitchen, and eased the pressure of accumulated debts (see the video here). It was a first great relief. Encouraged by your response, we launched a second challenge. With it, we not only continued to improve their daily lives with more supplies and by ensuring their health with full medical insurance for the children for two years, but we also took a momentous step: we bought their own plot of land! A plot with access to electricity and water, in the same community so the children wouldn't lose their support networks, and closer and safer. See the land here. The promise of a permanent home was beginning to take shape! And with "Pasito 3" (Little Step 3), your solidarity allowed us to start what seemed a distant dream: we began to lay the foundations and raise the first walls of their new home. Seeing those bricks go up was like watching hope materialize.

Every donation, every message of support, every time you shared our cause, has been one more brick in this construction of love and hope. Today, thanks to this wave of solidarity, the structure of their new home is standing—a beacon of hope in Kabezi. The children already feel the change; their excitement grows day by day.
But for these walls to become a true haven, for children's laughter to echo in warm, safe rooms, so we can, as we dream, 'complete the home and let the children move in,' we need to take this final, crucial step. We are just 10,000 euros short. This amount will allow us to finalize the construction: to install the roofs that will protect them, the solid floors on which they will play and dream, the windows that will open to a new dawn full of opportunities, and the doors that will symbolize a welcome to a more stable and secure life.
Imagine that day for a moment... This past February, we had the opportunity to visit Burundi with a group of friends. One of the most impactful things the children told us was that we had 'helped them feel their worth again.' These were children who, before our paths crossed, held little hope for a better future. Yet, since receiving your support through us, they've seen their own community begin to regard them with greater respect and consideration, all because they knew someone out there truly cared for them.
This orphanage, this home, will be a place where they will not only have food and shelter, but also the peace and stability to study, the safety to play, the support to heal, and the certainty that a better future awaits them. A space where they can, at last, simply be children.
This is not just a project to finish a building; it is the culmination of a collective effort to build lives, to sow opportunities, and to give them the keys to a dignified future. We have already traveled a long and beautiful road together. Now, we invite you to play a leading role in this final chapter. Help us put on the last roof, paint the last wall, and definitively open the doors of Hope House.
