The health-humanitarian crisis in Nepal; Covid-19 and Monsoon
In addition to the great crisis caused by the pandemic, there is also the devastating effect of the monsoon and its catastrophic effects on the locals

Monsoon rains are vital for agriculture but also carry a great risk from orography, causing landslides and deadly floods.
Disasters caused by monsoon rains have increased in recent years in Nepal. Experts say that climate change and unstoppable road construction could trigger deadly disasters.
And so it is happening, this year more than 12 hydroelectric plants have already been destroyed, many others have been closed as a precaution.
A large dam, Melamchi, in Sindhupalchok district, was damaged causing horrible floods and burying in mud villages near rivers. We remember that Sindhupalchok was one of the districts that suffered the most in the huge earthquake of 2015.
Also the districts of Palpa, Manang, Pyuthan, Syangja, Lamjung and Bajura have been severely affected.
In Melamchi area, around 1000 people have already been affected by the flooding of the river, some 200 houses were buried under the mud and about 20 fell completely due to the force of the water. 20 people have disappeared just in this area, but it´s feared that it could be even worse.
We have suffered very closely the horrible consequences of the monsoon; the grandmother of our Manisha (one of our sponsored) was buried by a landslide while she was working in the field near her house. The family is totally devastated and it has been a very tough time for Manisha.
These families already live in extreme poverty and in addition to the hardship of losing a relative, they have to deal with the loss of their homes and small crops, being left with absolutely nothing.
For all this, from Nepaldala we feel obliged to do something and help them. Life in Nepal is hard, the Covid made everything worse and now the monsoon ravages ... Many NGOs organized to help contributing as much as possible for the Covid cause, we did it by coordinating some organizations and media, but now we want to ask you for your help.
We set ourselves the challenge of raising 3000€ during the next month and a half, there are still months of monsoon and with that help we can give shelter to many families who have lost absolutely everything.
Please share, spread, tell about it.
They need us and now is when we have to pitch in again.
