Every year, thousands of people are diagnosed with colorectal cancer at advanced stages. When the disease stops responding to conventional treatments and metastasizes to the liver, therapeutic options are very limited.
In response to this reality, the TANIA Project was created— a solidarity initiative with various activities aimed at advancing research in personalized immunotherapy based on tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs). This research is carried out in the laboratories of the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL) and is led by Dr. Ramón Salazar from the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO).
All funds raised will be fully allocated to the research and development of a new personalized therapy based on the ex vivo treatment of a type of patients’ immune cells—T lymphocytes—to make them more reactive against tumor cells.
A new hope for metastatic colon cancer. A project inspired by Tania and driven by the commitment of all those who refuse to give up.
