TANU has operated as an NGO for 21 years. Our objective is to ensure the rights of children in Ukraine, making it possible for children and teenagers to improve their home life situation and prevent social exclusion.
These minors are part of unstructured families. This could be due to one or both parents dying or being affected by illnesses, alcohol abuse, drugs or prostitution. Some of them are in government facilities apart from their biological family, others still live with a relative but in a situation of social risk, since the environment in which they live does not allow them to develop a healthy and dignified future.
Host families are the backbone of our work. Thanks to them, we give the children and teenagrs of Ukraine the opportunity to live in a healthy and stable family model.Currently, the shelters are canceled until the pandemic improves. This, accompanied by continuous lockdowns and a closure of schools, further exacerbates inequality. Our work focuses on on-site projects. The control and monitoring of these projects is done through the “Todo Corazón de Nikopol” Foundation.
In general, students from poor families are less likely to have access to digital learning resources, such as a personal computer, high-speed internet, and a comfortable study environment.This includes their own room or desk, quiet personal space, and parental support. Also, in Ukraine especially, internet access especially in small towns is limited.
People with lower incomes are less likely to use the Internet. Only 42.2% of people in the 10% of the lowest income households have internet connection, while 91.6% of people in high-income households make daily use, both at home and in their professional positions . The less use, the more chance of low digital skills.
In the context of distance learning, when the internet is almost the only means of interaction between teachers, schools and students, the least privileged categories of users are the least prepared. Inequality in access and little knowledge of the use of devices and applications generate gaps in academic results between different sectors of the population. Another issue is that the lockdowns at schools entails not receiving the food that is offered at educational centers. The children of TANU, children of families without resources, will have more food deficiencies. As a consequence, they suffer more, and affecting this their academic results. This fact could lead to early abandonment of the educational system. Overall, these factors arguments lead us to the proposal of a computer resource center to support 60 minors. The center will be located in one of the spaces of the Todo Corazón de Nikopol Foundation.
The project includes: 6 computers, 1 printer, 6 headphones, network connection and a facilitator of the center. Working groups will be created, separated by age and organized by time, to access the devices. The facilitator will accompany and guide the children in virtual classes, printing out tasks to be done and clarifying any doubts or questions that may arise.

TANU és des de fa 23 anys una ONG que té com a objectiu vetllar pels drets de la infància a Ucraïna, fent que nens, nenes i adolescents en risc d'exclusió social puguin adquirir els valors de la família. El perfil social d'aquests nens i nenes correspon al de famílies molt desestructurades degut a la mort d'algun o ambdós progenitors, malalties, abús de l'alcohol, drogues i prostitució. Alguns d'ells estan en centres fora de la seva família, altres encara viuen amb algun familiar però en situació de risc social, ja que el model familiar en el que viuen no els permet desenvolupar un projecte de futur sa i digne.

TANU es desde hace 23 años una ONG que tiene como objetivo velar por los derechos de la infancia en Ucrania, haciendo que niños, niñas y adolescentes con riesgo de exclusión social puedan adquirir los valores de la familia. El perfil social de estos niños y niñas corresponden al de familias muy desestructuradas debido a la muerte de alguno o ambos progenitores, enfermedades, abuso del alcohol, drogas y prostitución. Algunos de ellos están en centros fuera de su familia, otros todavía viven con algún familiar pero en situación de riesgo social, ya que el modelo familiar en el que viven no les permite desarrollar un proyecto de futuro sano y digno.
