To celebrate his 10 years of recovery from addiction, Xavi Moya will face a sporting challenge that a few years ago would have seemed unimaginable. On April 4, 100 km will run alone through the Moroccan Sahara Desert, in a solidarity test for the benefit of Projecte Home Catalunya.
Xavi Moya, 51 years old, is a Tarragonan who almost ten years ago went through a very difficult life moment, after years of drug use that led him to a limit situation. This situation made him become aware and ask for professional help. During its recovery process, physical activity has been key, especially running.
This new stage has also motivated him to return to the community this gift that he has received in the form of a new opportunity, offering support to people with addiction problems through talks, interviews and collaborations with recovery centers as an experienced mentor, accompanying and guiding those people who start the difficult path of recovery.
The funds raised will be allocated to Projecte Home Catalunya, a reference entity in the care and support of people with addictions and other risky behaviors. For more than 30 years, it has offered prevention, treatment and social reintegration programs, as well as support for families, with the aim of promoting the recovery, autonomy and quality of life of the affected people.
With his challenge in the Sahara, Xavi Moya not only runs 100 km: he runs with hope, solidarity and the will to transform lives.

Des de fa més de 30 anys, ofereix programes de prevenció, tractament i reinserció social, així com acompanyament a famílies, amb l’objectiu de promoure la recuperació, l’autonomia i la qualitat de vida de les persones afectades.
