Education is a right, not a privilege. However, many deaf boys and girls still lack access to something as basic as primary education.
After years of collaboration with Kitega Community Centre, we have witnessed an urgent reality: too many deaf children have never had the opportunity to attend school.
Without primary education, they do not learn sign language.
Without sign language, they cannot communicate.
Without communication, they are left isolated and without opportunities.
But when they receive support, their lives are transformed. And now, you can be part of that change.
Stories that inspire this project
Robert
Two years ago, we launched a crowdfunding campaign so that Robert could study tailoring. Thanks to your support, he completed two years of training and now works as a tailoring instructor. His story shows that when doors are opened, the results are real and lasting.
Shemim
Through that same campaign, Shemim was also able to study tailoring. She is currently in her second year and moves every day toward a more independent life.
Nancy
Nancy was able to begin primary education and now has access to learning, language, and new opportunities that were previously out of her reach.
These stories remind us that education doesn’t just teach—it transforms lives.
Our goal this year
With Signs for Education, we want to go even further. Our goal is to raise €5,000 to provide scholarships for deaf children and ensure they can attend primary school, the first step toward an independent and dignified life.
It is the first step for them to learn sign language, communicate, and build a future with dignity.
