Hello amig@s, adventure is knocking at the door again!
From November 1st I will be cycling from Gambia to Angola to raise funds for the NGO Mundo Orenda, in charge of the project “Casa do Gaiato”.
Casa do Gaiato is a house in a small village in Angola, where more than 70 boys and girls who were in very difficult life situations live. They provide them with an education so that they can be trained and have a more promising future. Well, right now they are raising funds to build a sports center! I am sure that sports will be a great complement to the education of these young people, and that the good values promoted by physical activity will greatly improve the health, both mental and physical, of these boys and girls.
The aim of the project is to build courts where they can practice various activities such as soccer, basketball or athletics and organize physical education classes to complement the education they receive at school.
The bicycle will be my instrument to give voice to this project, in which I will ride through one of the wildest and most authentic regions of the world: West and Central Africa. Approximately 8,000 Kms and 12 countries en route: Gambia, Senegal, Guinea Conakry, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, Republic of Congo and Angola.
The goal is to raise 2,500 euros for the construction of the sports center, arrive to Casa do Gaiato and show you the project up close and share all the experiences on the road during the coming months, which I am sure will be many.
