Provide drinking water to the Tibetan refugee community in McLeod Ganj, Northern India

My name is Eli and this Summer I am going on a solidarity trip in India with Tumaini. The purpose of this trip is to collaborate with Tumaini’s social project in supporting the Tibetan refugee community in McLeod Ganj, a small district north of Dharamsala, in Northern India.

Access to drinking water is a challenge in the region. Therefore, this trip is also an opportunity to bring water filters to the families and communities in McLeod Ganj. Is for this reason that we have contacted The Social Water Foundation, a Spanish organization that provides water filters that can eliminate bacteria, parasites and impurities, transforming water from untreated natural sources into safe drinking water.

Each filter costs €25 and it can guarantee that a family has access to drinking water. Each euro donated will arrive in its entirety to the foundation and it is exclusively dedicated to cover the cost of buying the filters, which I will carry with me during the trip and that will be distributed among the families and communities of McLeod Ganj when I arrive.
