Five Marbella Local Police horses deserve a retirement with honor after a lifetime of service.
Felipe, Melendi, Picasso, Berny, and Pajarita are not just five horses. For many years, they proudly served as members of the Marbella Local Police, faithfully accompanying their riders and providing an exemplary service to our city.
Today, due to age and various health conditions, that chapter of their lives has come to an end.
We believe that after a lifetime of dedicated service, they deserve to retire with the same dignity and respect with which they served.
In the coming days, they will be auctioned through the official public procedure. We cannot prevent the auction from taking place, but we can try to change the future of these five noble and innocent souls.
For this reason, a group of people in Marbella committed to animal welfare and environmental protection have joined forces to take part in the auction. We have already submitted a significant bid, and with the support of everyone who wishes to help, we will do everything we can to ensure these horses enjoy the peaceful retirement they have truly earned.
Our mission does not end with winning the auction. We also want to ensure that they do not fall into the hands of unsuitable people or anyone with harmful intentions.
At the same time, we are already in contact with equine sanctuaries, specialized rescue centers, and animal-assisted therapy organizations for children. Several have already expressed their interest, and we continue searching for the best possible home for each horse—a place where they can spend the rest of their lives in peace, receiving proper veterinary care, good nutrition, and all the love and attention they deserve.
They did not choose to serve.
They did not choose to grow old.
And they cannot choose their future.
But we can choose to help them.
Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to making this possible.
Every donation is an opportunity to ensure that Felipe, Melendi, Picasso, Berny, and Pajarita are not remembered as merely another lot at a public auction, but as five lives given the future they deserve—a future filled with dignity, compassion, safety, and peace.
If we are successful in acquiring them, the funds raised will be used to participate in the public auction, transport the horses to their new homes, cover their initial veterinary care, food, rehabilitation, and adaptation, and ultimately guarantee their well-being throughout the entire rescue and relocation process.
If, unfortunately, we are not awarded the horses, every donation will be used in full for the rescue and care of vulnerable equines through our organization. We are committed to complete transparency and will keep all supporters fully informed about how the funds are used.
Today, these horses need someone to speak on their behalf.

Los fines de la Asociación Marbella Activa son los siguientes:
a) Fomentar y promover una ciudadanía activa en Marbella con el fin de potenciar una mejora de la calidad de vida urbana, de recuperar y poner en valor su identidad e historia local.
b) Favorecer el desarrollo económico, social y cultural del municipio
c) Preservar su medioambiente urbano y natural evitando la especulación urbanística.
d) Fomentar y promover la participación ciudadana para configurar una Marbella acorde a los retos globales presentes y futuros sin perder su identidad.
e) La promoción del conocimiento y de una oferta cultural variada y enriquecedora.
f) Desarrollo de propuestas para un modelo de ciudad humana, accesible, solidaria, vertebrada, participativa, administrada cercanamente, segura, con calidad de vida, sostenida y sostenible.
g) Establecer, mantener relaciones y obtener la adecuada representación en los organismos e instituciones de carácter público y privado que incidan en el campo de actuación de la Asociación, colaborando con ellos en cuanto sea beneficioso para el interés general de la ciudad.
