The Valencian Photographic Association (Agfoval) is left without premises due to the landlord's needs, leaving it without a place to continue the activities it has carried out for 80 years.
High rental prices prevent us from accessing the real estate market.
AGFOVAL, a non-profit association, is funded exclusively by membership fees, which have been in place for almost 15 years and are equivalent to the cost of four coffees in any neighborhood bar today. We refuse to raise them because our aim is to provide a space for anyone interested in photography, regardless of their financial resources.
For 80 years, Agfoval has contributed to Valencian photographic culture. During these 80 years, practically all the great Valencian photographers have passed through its doors: Collado, Chirivella, Miguel de Miguel, and many others who have captured Valencian society for eighty years. But all of that is irrelevant; the lack of support of any kind, financial or otherwise, puts us in a very precarious situation.
It doesn't matter that we constantly offer courses, which are attended by a large number of people, free courses where people socialize while learning many photographic techniques. It doesn't matter that we have a photographic legacy, embodied in nearly 5,600 photographs that make up our photo library. It doesn't matter that we have been and continue to be the Valencian photographic melting pot; for this, there is no support or collaboration. Undoubtedly, there will be support for much more important things. We need your financial contribution to cover the relocation, the necessary renovations to the new premises, the security deposit, the real estate commission, and a surplus for the first few months of rent.
La Agrupación Fotográfica Valenciana (AGFOVAL), registrada en el Registro Autonómico de Asociaciones con el nº 5333 Sección 1ª, tiene como objetivo la difusión de la fotografía, mediante formación y distintas actividades, cursos varios, Talleres de Plató, Salidas Fotográficas, Visitas organizadas a museos y exposiciones, Charlas sobre temas específicos, así como colaboración con distintas asociaciones como Juntos Contra el Parkinson.
Fundada en 1947, el año que viene cumplimos 80 años, en todo ese tiempo han pasado por nuestra asociación los principales fotógrafos valencianos de toda esa época, muchos años que nos han permitido disponer de una fototeca compuesta por cerca de 5600 fotografías, AGFOVAL ha sido el crisol de la cultura fotográfica valenciana.
Ahora con el necesario cambio de sede social, aprovechamos la ocasión para adaptarnos a los tiempos actuales, para ello iniciamos toda una serie de trámites que nos van a permitir trabajar más en colaboración con las Instituciones y distintos componentes sociales.
