Lama Caroline Birthday

Lama Caroline says:

“My hope is that between us we can continue to support the NgalSo Long-Life Woodland; your generosity will make Rinpoche’s wish to plant and maintain this woodland possible, and so I am delighted that any donations are directed first to this project”.

Lama Gangchen Rinpoche started the project to plant 108 indigenous trees in the winter 2019-2020. We started clearing the land of brambles and weeds, rebuilding and reparing the traditional water tanks that store precious water for the dry season, and installing an individual drip irrigation system for each tree — all in a sustainable way that does not require any external energy source. Despite the rugged terrain, we have been able to look after the trees and have recently installed a new tank to ensure Rinpoche’s trees have a stable supply.

With volunteer help, we have been able to protect each tree with a biodegradable cardboard ‘collar’ that prevents them being damaged or eaten by wild animals.  At the same time these collars do not obstruct the movement of the various animals in their natural habitat..

In order that we are able to continue to maintain the existing trees and to plant new ones as Rinpoche asked, as well as to continue Lama Caroline’s programme of Dharma teachings in Spain (“Peace with the Natural Environment”) NgalSo Spain is creating this crowdfunding space, with Lama Caroline’s support, so that Rinpoche’s vision of a Peace-Land can come true.
