This project began three years ago, when a partnership with Mama Elly’s was established through a volunteer programme. Since then, many volunteers have taken part in the daily life of the centre, helping with activities such as teaching classes, playing with the children, cooking, cleaning, and supporting whatever is needed to keep the centre running.
In addition, the NGO is currently leading an important project: the purchase of a plot of land where new facilities can be built, providing the children with better living conditions, improved hygiene standards, and a more suitable environment for their education and development.
Mama Elly has dedicated her life to this project. Together with her family, she lives in the same space where she cares for the children, sharing both her home and her daily life with them. Her husband and their two children also play an active role in the day-to-day running of the centre.
Through this fundraising challenge, we hope to contribute to one of the project’s most essential ongoing expenses: the rent for the space where, every day, dozens of children find a safe place to learn, receive nutritious meals, and feel cared for.
Every contribution, no matter how small, will help Mama Elly’s continue this valuable work.
