Once again, the Barcelona Firefighters are launching a solidarity challenge at the Cursa Bombers on November 10, with the aim of raising funds to send urgent humanitarian aid to Gaza.
The population of Gaza, over two million people, has been living under relentless bombings and attacks for the past year, constantly being displaced with the few belongings they managed to salvage from their homes, searching for safety in schools, hospitals, or improvised camps, but there is no safe place in the entire Strip.
A civilian population, more than half of whom are children, besieged under the bombs, dying as a result of them, due to the lack of medicines and hospitals, all of which have been attacked; dying from starvation and thirst, as for months humanitarian aid has been largely blocked and is insufficient to supply the malnourished population.
The civilian population, which was already facing an extremely precarious situation due to the blockade imposed on the Strip since 2007, is being severely affected by the massive destruction of vital infrastructures such as hospitals, water, and electricity networks, and homes. 80% of the infrastructures have been destroyed or seriously damaged.
Hospitals are overwhelmed, lacking sufficient medical supplies to treat the injured and sick, while water and food sources are scarce due to the destruction and blockade.
The figures are horrifying: more than 42,000 dead, 17,000 of them children, with thousands missing under the rubble of buildings. The entire population of Gaza is at risk of being annihilated in one way or another.
The international community and humanitarian organizations have been warning for months about the urgent need to deliver aid to Gaza, where the situation is unsustainable. Humanitarian resources are insufficient, and time is running out. Every day more and more people die due to a lack of medical care, clean water, or food.
This is why this solidarity challenge at the Cursa Bombers is of vital importance. With your participation and support, we can help alleviate the suffering of thousands of people by sending funds that provide access to medicines, food, water, and other essential resources. Every donation counts towards saving lives and providing immediate relief to those who need it most in this humanitarian emergency.

Bombers Solidaris es un grup que es va formar a principis d'Abril de 2016 sota el paraigües de l'ACE de Bombers de Barcelona amb dos objectius, primer, disposar d'una font de finançament col·lectiva que pogués donar suport a totes les iniciatives solidaries que ja existeixen dins de bombers i segon, tenir un grup que aglutines tota aquesta força i que servís per crear sinergies entre els diferents projectes així com atraure més gent del col·lectiu a participar i animar-los a proposar noves iniciatives.
