The events experienced this year have reminded us of the importance of caring for our cemeteries, preserving their dignity, and protecting the memory of those who rest there.

In the Jewish sections of Les Corts, Sant Andreu, and Collserola rest our fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, grandparents, relatives, and friends. Generations that were part of our lives and built our century-old Community.

They are part of who we are and of the legacy we will leave to those who come after us.

In our tradition, caring for those who are no longer with us is chesed shel emet, the purest act of kindness, precisely because it expects no gratitude or recognition whatsoever.

The Jewish Community of Barcelona (CJB) wishes to reinforce and systematize this commitment, taking on, week after week, the care and dignity of our graves across the three sites, with the same responsibility with which we care for our synagogues and community spaces.

Until now, many families have taken care of this on their own initiative. Now, we want to turn those individual efforts into a commitment shared by the entire Community. This campaign is our way of making it possible together.

Following our tradition, we place small, firm, and lasting stones on the graves. A simple gesture through which we say, without words: "I have come. I remember you. Your memory remains."

Today we ask that your contribution, large or small, also be one of those stones: a gesture of respect, memory, and commitment to our legacy.

Together we can ensure that those who came before us always receive the care and dignity their memory deserves.
