Next month, I'll be running the Barcelona Marathon to raise funds for research toward a cure for Angelman Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that affects my niece, Aina.
Aina is joyful, loving, and full of life. She brings happiness to everyone around her. But Angelman Syndrome also brings serious challenges: it affects speech, mobility, sleep, and independence.
Despite these challenges, Aina faces every day with an incredible smile and strength.
There is hope. Scientific research is advancing, and many researchers believe that a cure is possible. But progress depends on funding.
That is why I am running this marathon: to support research that can change Aina’s life, and the lives of thousands of children and families around the world.
Every donation, no matter how small, helps move us closer to a cure.
