WHAT IS EVERESTING?
The concept of Everesting is simple:
Choose any mountain, anywhere in the world and complete repetitions in a single activity until you accumulate a positive elevation gaing greater than of Everest, 8.848 meters
RULES
The routes can be of any lenght and over any type of moutain. You should choose a single mountain and do the same loop course. In other words, you choose a pass, and you climb it, and you go down it as many times as necessary until you accumulate 8.848 meters.
The routes cannot be in circular turns: The descent must be along the same road as the one you went up. Every ascent must be complete. You are not allowed to sleep, you do stop to eat, time not stop.
DONATION
The aim is to raise as many funds as possible that will go to the Bellvitge biomedical research institute (IDIBELL).
Any contribution, no matter how small, will be of great help to the cause and an extra source of energy to face this tough challenge.
WHEN AND WHERE?
The challenge will take place on the Col de les Llebres (Alt de la mussara).
The chosen day will be Saturday, May 4 or the following Saturaday, May 11 (in case of adverse weather).
Star time(5:30 AM/6AM).
RAFFLE
There will be two draws: The first of these is aimed at people who help spread the word about the solidarity Challenge on social media.
The second of them will be carried out among all those volunteers and people who are part of the organization of the event. The rules of the draw will be detailed in the coming days.
A l’Institut d’Investigació Biomèdica de Bellvitge (IDIBELL) estem segurs que la recerca és la clau per entendre les malalties i ajudar a millorar la salut i la qualitat de vida de les persones. Per això, treballem dia a dia a prop dels pacients, per a conèixer les seves necessitats i traslladar els coneixements del laboratori.
Els focus de la nostra investigació són: el càncer, les neurociències, la medicina translacional i la medicina regenerativa.
L’IDIBELL és un centre de recerca en biomedicina participat per l’Hospital Universitari de Bellvitge i l’Hospital de Viladecans de l’Institut Català de la Salut, l’Institut Català d’Oncologia, la Universitat de Barcelona i l’Ajuntament de L’Hospitalet de Llobregat.
