About the NGO

Help us finance the 6th European Aniridia Conference by entering a raffle to win for 7 days/6 nights in Fuerteventura with all-inclusive at Hotel Taimar – accessible and inclusive hotel

Do you know the Canary Islands? Its incredible beaches, its pleasant temperature, its volcanoes, its gastronomy, its people...?

This is a wonderful opportunity to visit one of these seven islands, Fuerteventura, while supporting the VI European Aniridia Conference (which is taking place in Alicante between June 3 and 5, 2022)

Aniridia is a rare disease that affects one person in every 100,000 people. We are few, but as important as if we were millions. The 6th European Conference aims to improve the knowledge and management of Aniridia and WAGR syndrome .

You can buy as many raffle tickets as you want. The more tickets, the more chances that you will win the prize.

With your support we can fund the conference and so improve the lives of people with aniridia. Click on "Donate" and choose the amount depending on the number of raffle tickets you want:

15 euros = 1 ticket
30 euros = 3 tickets
60 euros = 8 tickets
100 euros = 16 tickets

To take part you must enter your email and name and tick Yes box to “I want to stay up to date and receive communications from the NGOs I support with my donations and solidarity causes.” at the time of making the donation. You will receive your tickets within 48 hours.

Donations of less than 15 euros will not enter the raffle but will support our work.

The prize draw will take place on 21 June 2022 on Aniridia Day, and will be broadcast live on the Spanish Aniridia Association Instagram channel.

This fundraiser is in collaboration with collaboration of Hotel Taimar. It is an inclusive and adapted establishment . Both its groundsand the interior of the entire complex accessible, incudling bedrooms and bathrooms..

Recently, Hotel Taimar received one of the Caixabank Hotels & Tourism awards for its Corporate Social Responsibility.

La Asociación Española de Aniridia, creada el 15 de Junio de 1996, es una Asociación sin ánimo de lucro, inscrita en el Registro de Asociaciones del Ministerio de Interior, en la Comunidad de Madrid, Declarada de Utilidad Pública y con el sello de Fundación Lealtad.

Fue creada para la lucha por el avance de los derechos de las personas con Aniridia, una enfermedad rara o poco frecuente que afecta a la formación ocular, provocando esto que la persona nazca sin iris y con una visión inferior al 20% en ambos ojos.

Por todo ello es necesario que las personas con Aniridia sean atendidas por médicos que conozcan el protocolo de intervención y realicen un correcto seguimiento, sobre todo para evitar la aparición o el avance de otras patologías o enfermedades generalmente asociadas (Glaucoma, Cataratas, Nistagmus, Tumor renal infantil,...) que pueden llegar a causar la ceguera.

De modo que esta entidad pretende ser punto de referencia de profesionales y pacientes, sirviendo de puente entre los dos colectivos e intercambiando información en ambas direcciones, sin que esto signifique olvidar de la cobertura de las necesidades emocionales de las personas, sus familias y comunidades.
