Matt is running the Barcelona Marathon with the goal of raising awareness and funds to help facilitate the incredible work of his family's nonprofit organization, Fundación Barraquer of Barcelona. The foundation works tirelessly to restore eyesight for people who would otherwise live out their lives blind or severely visually impaired, by sending teams of ophthalmologists and trained personnel to the Third World. Queremos contribuir al desarrollo de la oftalmología y lograr que sea universal en su aspecto asistencial. La Fundación, con la Dra. Elena Barraquer como directora, desarrolla de forma continua proyectos para erradicar la ceguera en los países en vías de desarrollo a través de expediciones a estos países donde operan a la población local necesitada o en algunos casos trasladan a Barcelona para poderlos curar.
