In Ethiopia, the responsibility of supplying the vital resource of water to the family falls on girls and women, who dedicate precious hours to this obligation that could be spent at school. 

Much of Ethiopia's population doesn´t have access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation. The drought is further exacerbating this situation.

ADS is working to provide clean water to the affected population.

Bringing water closer to home will give girls more time to study and improve their hygiene and sanitation conditions, which will also result in a lower incidence of diarrheal diseases.
