Hello everyone,
On behalf of the Maasai Reto Association, we are launching this fundraising challenge with a very clear goal: to build a new dormitory for the children of Olchoro Lemayian Primary School in Kenya.
Why is it so urgent?
Our educational project is growing at an unstoppable pace. In just three academic years, we have grown from 58 students to 139. Of these, 49 boys and girls are already boarding on-site throughout the entire term.
Boarding is not a luxury; it is a vital necessity. Many of these children live far away, and their journey home is full of real dangers, such as elephants, buffaloes, or lions. Thanks to the boarding program, they are not only safe but also guaranteed three meals a day and can participate in extracurricular activities, developing fully.
The current problem:
Our current dormitory is at its maximum capacity. If we don't act now, we will not be able to accommodate more children next year. Many would be left without the opportunity to continue in the educational program, and the school would see its growth potential restricted.
Our goal:
That is why we urgently need to raise funds to build a new boys' dormitory before the end of the year. We want no child to be left behind and for all to grow in a safe and educational environment.

En 2013 Marta empezó un viaje a África que cambiaría su vida. Su amor y su pasión por este precioso continente, su gente y su vida salvaje la han llevado a formar su hogar y su familia en Kenya. Morris, su marido, es de la tribu Kamba pero siempre se ha criado en tierra maasai. Ahora ha llegado el momento que su pasión y la de sus hermanos & familia se unan en un nuevo RETO familiar. Asi nace la Asociación Maasai Reto.
A través de la asociación creamos retos para apoyar a las familias maasai en las zonas rurales de Masai Mara basándones en cuatro pilares principales: educación, Sanidad, Agua y empodaramiento de las Mujeres.
Además, tenemos una última ambiación: entender la gestión de terrenos en tierra maasai y apoyar la conservación de la fauna. Esto se debe a que muchas familias en las zonas rurales viven en zonas contiguas a áreas de conservación de la fauna y la convivencia entre los poblados y los animales y evitar los conflictos que puedan generarse es parte de su forma de vida.
Como véis, somo ambiciosos, pero el apoyo de Marta y Morris estando sobre el terreno, nos ayuda a conocer de primera mano las necesidades, gestionar los recursos y supervisar los proyectos.
