KMSxELA (@KMSxELA: twitter and instagram) is an initiative created in 2020 to give visibility to Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and try to help patients and their families through donations to entities such as the Fundació Miquel Valls in Catalonia or ELA Andalucía. In these years, we have managed to raise about 27,000 euros.
This year's initiative is linked to the ultra-distance event that takes place at the Can Dragó athletics track (Barcelona) on December 17 and 18 (https://activitats.corredors.cat/24hores/es/inicio/)
The event consists of running the maximum number of kilometres in 24 hours; It can be done individually, in pairs or in teams.
In our case, KMSxELA has created three teams of 24 people who will run 1 hour each to accumulate the maximum number of kilometres that will give visibility to the disease and raise money for research in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.
KMSxELA, the Fundació Catalana d’ELA Miquel Valls, the Fundació Amics de l'Hospital del Mar and the ALS Unit of the Hospital del Mar have come together to create a crowdfunding initiative to collect donations that will go towards research carried out in the ALS Unit of the Hospital del Mar. Specifically, the funds will serve to research diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers that allow earlier diagnosis and more precise disease monitoring.
All people who make financial contributions through the website will be entered into a draw for various products that will be announced on social networks (@KMSxELA: twitter and instagram)
La Fundació Amics de l’Hospital del Mar la formem professionals de l’Hospital del Mar i del Parc de Salut Mar, antics treballadors, pacients agraïts, voluntaris, entitats i persones de la societat civil compromeses amb la millora del benestar físic, emocional i social dels pacients i de les seves famílies.
La nostra missió és aconseguir la col·laboració de ciutadans, empreses i entitats de la societat civil, per tal de contribuir a l’excel·lència en l’atenció a la salut de les persones.
