The images and testimonies that we have seen and heard these days allow us to put ourselves in the shoes of those people who have lost everything, and in many cases also their livelihood. Now, more than ever, it is necessary not to leave anyone behind, to step forward and take action.
It is within our Scout values and, above all, the Scout Promise and the Scout Law, that "the Scout is useful, supportive and helps others ...". Hence the importance, as Scouts, to participate in this solidarity initiative "#ScoutsconLaPalma" and do our part to relieve the situation of the people of La Palma, who overnight have lost everything.
The funds raised, in collaboration with the federated organization of Scouts de España in the Canary Islands, Scouts-Exploradores de Canarias, and the Cabildo Insular de La Palma, will be distributed to meet the most urgent needs related to the following aspects:
- Lodging
- Food
- Infrastructures and facilities (irrigation networks, water supply...)
- Standalone lighting equipment (generators, spotlights or flashlights...)
- Bedding and personal clothing
Scouts de España encourage you to join this Solidarity Campaign. Every contribution is important, no matter how small. Remember “Many small people, in small places, doing small things, can change the world".
In case you do not have Spanish nationality and you want to make a donation of more than 100 euros, you should make the payment by bank transfer. In this case, please send an email to esperanza.alvarez@migranodearena.org and she will inform you how to do it quickly and easily.
