This summer, at La Madriguera, we have cared for around 1,000 wild animals.
Swifts, swallows, house martins, sparrows, bats, hedgehogs and other animals who arrived at our centre injured, orphaned, weakened or too young to survive on their own.
We have fed, stabilised, treated and rehabilitated them and, whenever possible, returned them to the wild.
But all this work comes with a cost.
During the busiest months, we have had to cover food, medication, veterinary supplies, electricity, maintenance, facilities and coordination costs. In order to keep caring for animals when they needed us most, we have been able to cover some of these expenses thanks to suppliers and services that have allowed us to defer payment.
Now that the season is coming to an end, we want to close this chapter while also beginning to prepare for the next one.
🐦 Our goal: €4,500
We want to raise €4,500 to close this season and make the next one possible.
Part of the funds will allow us to cover expenses that are still outstanding from this year.
The rest will become a small starting fund for the next season: food, medication, veterinary supplies, maintenance and other resources needed to make sure that, when the first animals start arriving again, La Madriguera is ready to receive them.
Every contribution makes a difference 💚
🪶 €10 → helps cover basic vitamin supplementation for up to 300 birds during their recovery.
🌿 €25 → helps cover treatment and medication costs for an animal with a severe infection.
🐦 €30 → helps cover the food needed to raise a young swift until its release.
💚 €100 → helps cover the cost of an X-ray and emergency veterinary care for an injured animal.
Every contribution helps us keep rescue going today and prepare for tomorrow's rescues.
And if you cannot donate right now, sharing this campaign is also a way to help.
Where will your contribution go?
The funds will be used for two purposes:
Closing the season
Covering part of the expenses we still have outstanding from these months:
- Animal food
- Medication and veterinary supplies
- Rehabilitation equipment
- Electricity and utilities
- Facility maintenance
- Other essential operating costs
Preparing for the next season
Setting aside resources so that we can receive animals again when the next peak season begins:
- Food
- Medication and veterinary supplies
- Rehabilitation equipment
- Maintenance and preparation of the facilities
- Other resources needed for rescue and rehabilitation
This summer, we have been there for around 1,000 animals.
Now we need your help to close this chapter and keep building the next one.
Will you join the flock?
Thank you for supporting this project.
