The aim of “Cause of the Month” award is to recognise and reward the efforts made by NGOs and community organisations to publicise their cause, and in this way to encourage more people to cooperate and, in short, build a better society.

At migranodearena.org and at ”la Caixa” Banking Foundation (hereinafter called Obra Social ”la Caixa”) we think that charity bodies play a key role in our society: they do a great job to improve quality of life for the most vulnerable groups, and also encourage everybody around them to cooperate.

The aim of “Cause of the Month” award is to recognise and reward the efforts made by NGOs and community organisations to publicise their cause, and in this way to encourage more people to cooperate and, in short, build a better society.

What is the “Cause of the Month” award?

It is a recognition of the cause published at migranodearena.org that attracts the most donations during the month.

How is the cause of the month chosen?

The cause of the month is the one that has managed to attract the most donors to the challenges set by it at migranodearena.org in the current month.

This award cannot be given twice in the same year to the same cause.

The organisation reserves the right to disqualify any participant NGO that put into practice irregular practices with the intention to win the award and with the aim of artificially increase the donations. Some examples of non-ethical behaviours could be:

• More than 3 donations done by the same person in one day in one challenge.
• To do contemptuous comments of other NGO that aim for the award.

What is the prize?

The cause of the month will receive a €500 prize donated by ”la Caixa” Foundation in recognition of its good work during the month, plus a “virtual medal” which will be visible on all the challenges it posts on migranodearena.org.

This extra donation will be paid in the month following that in which the body in question won it.

Migranodearena.org and/or Obra Social “la Caixa” could ask the winning organization of the "Cause of the Month" to use images of solidarity challenges to be published on their website(s) or social networks or other channels, in order to inform about this award. In this case, the entity(s) will request the winner to use the corresponding images and the latter can only reject the request when use limitations exist related to the rights owned by third parties or other limitations of rights that prevent the authorization of its use, in which case it will duly inform the applicant entity(s).

The categories that compete for “Cause of the Month” are those associated with the ”la Caixa” Foundation:

Education, culture and art, health and research, environment, international cooperation and socio-labor integration.
