At Trust and Support ONGD (trustandsupport.org) we have been working since June 2017 to remove from the streets of Lima (Peru), small children (some of them babies) who live in situations of begging.

This project, which we call Warmi, had produced excellent results. But in mid-March all the work done was jeopardized by the pandemia.

The young moms who, after so much effort, managed to get out of absolute poverty by maintaining humble but dignified jobs, were unable to continue working and stopped having income with which to cover the most basic needs of their little ones.

Furthermore, the areas of Lima in which these families reside are extremely poor, and their support networks are made up of people even poorer than they. Entire communities who have been living a real hell from the first moment of confinement. No organization reaches these marginal areas. There is no one to turn to.

In this terrible situation, we launched the EMERGENCY 2020/2021. With this campaign, from the first day of social isolation, we have directly supported more than 500 family units in an extremely precarious situation in the districts of San Juan de Lurigancho, Chorrillos and Callao.

Today our challenge is to continue supporting those that nobody helps, and protecting the little ones from the terrible consequences of this crisis.

We are doing it in three ways:

- Meeting the basic needs of those little ones who are being orphaned by this terrible disease through our weekly cahs-transfer program.

- Opening two community kitchens  in which at least 200 people are being supported.

- Distributing 100 basic hygiene and biosecurity kits each month to the families we support.

In order to continue working for the next three months we need to raise € 11,000.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT that you be aware that the young women we are helping and their families, commit themselves in writing to return in hours of work to the service of the community the support that is provided.

Many of them from the first day this campaing started are working helping us to launch and keep this project active. In fact this campaign would not have been possible without them.

HELP US!

HELP THEM!
