The day after my 46th birthday, I will be running a half-marathon for a non-profit association formed by parents and friends of children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and Becker. The funds will be used for research, treatment and management of the disease at the Neuromuscular Pathology Unit of the Hospital de Sant Joan de Déu de Barcelona.
Somos una asociación sin ánimo de lucro formada por padres y amigos de niños con distrofia muscular de Duchenne y Becker. La distrofia muscular de duchenne es una enfermedad infantil degenerativa y que a día de hoy no tiene cura. Los niños pierden su fuerza muscular conforme van creciendo, y todos sus músculos se debilitan hasta que necesitan una silla de ruedas para poder caminar. Recaudamos fondos para la investigación, tratamiento y manejo de la enfermedad. Nuestros fondos van destinados a la Unidad de Patología Neuromuscular del Hospital de Sant Joan de Deu de Barcelona.

The Hospital de Sant Joan de Deu is an excellent hospital and has served my relatives well. It's good to be able to support the hospital in this way.
