Energía para la Infancia X Asesoría Unidad
Energía para la Infancia is a project to bring energy autonomy and hot water to the Pravas Foundation NGO orphanage (Mumbai), where 25 children live permanently and more than 130 receive monthly support (1,200 children and 300 women per year).
The centre spends more than 180,000 Indian rupees per year (around €1,750) on electricity and has no hot water, a situation that directly affects the children’s well-being, health and hygiene conditions. If they had an electric water heater now, it is estimated they would spend around 120,000 Indian rupees per year (about €1,150).
The goal of the campaign is to raise €13,000 to install a solar photovoltaic system and a solar water heater that cover 100% of the orphanage’s energy needs. This will ensure hot showers, eliminate electricity costs and save €2,900 per year. If we multiply this saving by the lifetime of the solar energy system (25 years) and the solar water heater (15 years), that’s more than €60,000 saved. In addition, we will avoid more than 10.1 tonnes of CO₂ per year (250 tonnes of CO₂ in total), allowing the money saved to be used for food, education and school supplies.
We guarantee maximum transparency, as we will travel to Mumbai to purchase the solar system and the water heater together with the orphanage team, documenting every step and every expense.
The project will be carried out in several phases:
Phase 1 – Fundraising (24/11/2025 – 12/01/2026): launch of the solidarity challenge and campaign outreach.
Phase 2 – Visit to the orphanage and purchase of materials (16/01/2026 – 25/01/2026): purchase of the solar panels and the water heater together with Pravas Foundation.
Phase 3 – Installation of the photovoltaic system and follow-up (4 months from the purchase): start of the installation, with an estimated completion time of four months. We will collect the full breakdown of expenses, photographic evidence and measurement of the social and environmental impact.
Budget breakdown:
- Purchase and installation of solar energy system – €10,200 (1,045,500 Indian rupees)
- Purchase and installation of solar water tank and heater – €980 (100,800 Indian rupees)
- Marketing budget – €100
- Migranodearena platform fee – €650
- Payment gateway fees – €195
- Contingencies (any remaining amount will be donated) – €875
- Flights, accommodation and per diem – Funded by GAMAN
