About the NGO

Hi,

My name is Nils Oro, a 16 years-old student at the American School of Barcelona. I want to create a scholarship to support at least one kid for a year at the LAMSA academy in Ghana. I would like to institute this scholarship as a yearly fundraiser.

Eric Otabil was a 9-year-old child who passed away from a sudden stomachache on March 12th, 2025, in Ghana. Eric was a player at Lamsa, recognized for his sweet, hard-working and playful character.

Lamsa, www.lamsaghana.com, is "a football academy and non-profit organization dedicated to giving over 90 young players living in a Liberian refugee camp in Ghana the chance to build a brighter future, both on and off the pitch".

Eric Otabil's scholarship will cover the education, sanitary insurance and related costs, and daily meals of a child during a year through Lamsa. The estimated cost is around 800€:

60€ health insurance and costs.
175€ education.
570€ meals.

Lamsa will award the scholarship/s to a child they recognize embodies Eric's character and is in need of this support.

A través del fútbol, LAMSA ofrece a más de 120 niños y niñas acceso a educación, alimentación, atención sanitaria y acompañamiento personal, creando un entorno seguro donde pueden desarrollarse dentro y fuera del campo. Nuestro objetivo es generar oportunidades reales y sostenibles, formando no solo mejores jugadores, sino mejores personas.

Trabajamos para romper el ciclo de la pobreza mediante el deporte, apostando por un modelo que combina impacto social y desarrollo deportivo, con una visión a largo plazo: construir un espacio donde cada niño tenga la oportunidad de crecer, aprender y soñar.
