The school at Gambasse started with only 40 students. Initially it only offered classes from 1st to 4th grade. After many years of continuous efforts by 2016 it had grown to 800 students all the way to 9th grade, becoming a cornerstone of education in the area of Ganadu.
The school has continued to grow and in the school year 2023-24 it will have a total of 1000 students and 30 teachers giving classes all the way till the 12th Grade.
This growth has been thanks to continued efforts, and it is now at a point that there is a desperate need for an improvement in the ability to supply drinkable water for the children.
In order to be able to supply enough water for the growing needs of the schools a survey was completed in the area which located a larger water vein far deeper, which would guarantee water even during the driest seasons of the year.
We are working towards
- Drilling a new well of more than 30m deep
- Installing a pump driven and solar panels to power it
- Installing a water tank of 5.000 L
- Building a tall structure for then tank and solar panels
- Installing water pipe and 3 taps across the campus
The total budget is 11.923 EUR (all materials and work sourced locally to support local economy). The RC Barcelona 92 has already managed to raise approximately 6.000 EUR and are seeking support for the remainder.
