David meca y carlos: reto best buddies ??? valencia triatlón

Carlos tiene discapacidad intelectual, pero eso no le impide perseguir su sueño: llegar a la meta del Triatlón de Valencia. Apoyado por la Fundación Best Buddies España me ha propuesto el desafío de acompañarle durante su reto. ¡Y he aceptado!

Además he decidido aprovechar mi experiencia como triple campeón del mundo en aguas abiertas para capitanear un equipo formado por cuatro personas con discapacidad intelectual y sus cuatro amigos con el fin de que, apoyados por Best Buddies España, participe en el Triatlón de Valencia los días 6 y 7 de septiembre.

Para muchos de nosotros hacer amigos es algo fácil y natural, pero para otros es lo más complicado que harán en la vida. En la Fundación Best Buddies fomentan la inclusión social a través de la amistad, uno a uno, entre una persona con discapacidad y una persona voluntaria. Y este evento es una magnífica oportunidad para conseguirlo.

Carlos has an intellectual disability, but that has not stopped him from pursuing his dream: to get to the finish line of the Valencia Triathlon. He has asked me to accompany him in this challenge, and I have accepted!

Besides, I have decided to use my experience as a three times World Champion in open water swimming to lead a team of four people with special needs and their four friends. Supported by Best Buddies Spain we will take part in the Valencia Triathlon on the 6th and 7th of September.

For many of us making friends is easy and natural, but for some it is the hardest thing they will ever do. Best Buddies promotes social inclusion through one-to-one friendships between a person with an intellectual disability and a volunteer without an intellectual disability. And this event is a great opportunity to join our movement.

I have already accepted the challenge. Will you?
