About the NGO

My name is Amarna, and ever since I first visited South Sudan, I fell in love with its folklore and rich culture. Unfortunately, during my visit to the eastern part of the country, I became aware of a painful reality: many families lack access to a reliable source of clean water. To enjoy a basic right, they end up jeopardizing their health and well-being.

With this idea in mind, I contacted The Social Water foundation, responsible for providing filters that help purify water. With their assistance, we've conducted a study of potential solutions and have decided to launch this crowdfunding campaign. The plan is to take advantage of my upcoming expedition in the country during November of this year, guided by the travel agency Ojo de Nómada, to directly deliver 300 filters that will improve the living conditions of the affected community.

Current Situation: The Water Struggle in Nanyangachor

Imagine living in a community where access to clean water is a daily challenge. In the heart of Nanyangachor, South Sudan, there resides a community of 300 families from the Jye ethnic group. The lack of water access has led to unimaginable difficulties: during the dry season, the entire community relies on an artificial puddle filled with rainwater, shared with animals (resulting in problems and related diseases). When attempting to access the only well in the area, they face tribal issues with historically antagonistic neighboring groups. These families deserve a safer and more sustainable solution.

Our Vision: Clean Water for All

To bring about a real and lasting solution in the lives of these families, I am collaborating with The Social Water. Our idea is to provide filters that will purify water and eliminate 99.99% of bacteria, parasites, and impurities. This way, microorganisms will no longer be a threat, and the risk of diseases will decrease dramatically.
