Hello! We are Ulam Romero Garcia and Oscar Palet Santandreu, President, Secretary and Lawyer, representing the Spanish non-profit association Cosmovisiones Gaia. We have proposed to support an indigenous council of Putumayo in Colombia, the Inga, of the Musu Ñambi Kausai reservation, so that they can acquire a 140 hectare plot of forest and thus be able to contribute to their preservation and that of their culture, language and traditions.
The resguardo is also made up of people displaced by the guerrilla and that is why, in their Inga Quichua language, the community is called "Musu Ñambi Kausai" (which means "A new beginning"). Although they are in a very vulnerable situation, it is a community of great strength and ancient traditions, being descendants of an Inca population settled in Putumayo for several centuries. Hence their name, the Inga.
We want to support them so that they can save these hectares of jungle from looting, construction, cattle ranching and raw material extraction. It is very sad to see live how the forest is being destroyed to the detriment of all, but the Indigenous Peoples are the best guarantee for its safeguard as ancestral guardians of the ecosystems, and that is why 80% of the world's biodiversity is in indigenous territories because for these peoples, nature and human beings live in symbiosis.
Between many few of us we can help save the Amazon and it is time to take action. Our indigenous brothers and sisters deserve our support and respect, for them and for everyone. Yes we can and we must oppose the destruction of the jungle, and if we manage to overcome the objective, we will use it to help them also to strengthen the chagras that are traditional plantations and to replant native flora.
Will you join us to defend the jungle together? We want to help buy a piece of jungle to be preserved by the Inga, and you can be part of their indigenous guard.
Of course anyone who makes a contribution will be entitled to a breakdown of expenses and all of you who help will be part of the commemorative mural that will be installed in the new Inga reserve.
