Gastos operacion y tratamientos bull / expenses surgery and treatment bull

Hola todos,

Me llamo Bull y vivo en la protectora de Lydia Argilés en Lleida.

Me encontraron abandonado por la calle y me llevaron a la protectora, donde Lydia me dio una casa, comida y los más importante: ¡amor sin condiciones!

Poco después de que Lydia me acogiera, notó que no era un perro sano. Tengo una condición que se llama Prolapso Anal* , que significa que parte de mi intestino sale por mi ano. No es una condición dolorosa, más que nada es muy molesta y hace que no pueda vivir como un perro normal. Y aparte de eso, será más difícil (igual imposible) encontrar a una persona que me quiera adoptar y eso significaría que tengo que pasar toda mi vida en la protectora (y es algo que ningún perro debería pasar/ sufrir)

Mi condición solo se puede curar a través de una intervención quirúrgica, pero esto significara un gasto enorme para la protectora, Lydia estaba determinada a hacer todo lo posible sin importar el dinero (ella sin duda es mi ángel de guardia)

Así que se hizo una cita con el veterinario para una primera visita y para planificar la operación.  Infelizmente me diagnosticaron con Ehrlichia** y esto significaba que tenía que tomarme medicamentos hasta que estuviera curado y suficientemente fuerte para tener una operación.

Cuando después de un mes se me curo la Ehrlichia, tuve mi operación y todo fue muy bien. Pero cuando volví al veterinario unos días después para hacer una revisión, me dieron una muy mala noticia: Me habían diagnosticado con Leishmania***

En este momento estoy en la segunda parte de mi tratamiento de Leishmania, pero aún me faltan días. Estoy tomando varias pastillas y sobres/ polvos para por lo menos 30 días más. ¡Soy un perro muy fuerte y me pondré mejor seguramente! Soy un guerrero y no me rindo.

Como podéis imaginar, los gastos de mi tratamiento médico son muy altos y la protectora depende de donaciones públicas. Me siento mal por hacer esto a Lydia, porque sé que ella tampoco tiene tanto dinero.

Por esto os pido si podéis mirar en vuestro corazón y donar dinero para pagar las cuentas. Toda ayuda por pequeña que sea, os la agradeceré infinitamente.

* Prolapso anal es una condición en la cual una o más capas del recto se desplazan a través del ano, la abertura que permite que los residuos digestivos abandonen el cuerpo. Puede ser causada por una variedad de factores, incluyendo trastornos del sistema digestivo, urinario o genital.
 

** Ehrlichia canis es una bacteria intracelular parásito obligado, que actúa como el agente causal de la Ehrlichiosis, una enfermedad que afecta más comúnmente a las especies caninas. Síntomas de Ehrlichia son: fiebre, pérdida de apetito, pérdida de peso, vómitos y anemia
 

*** La Leishmania o Leishmaniosis es una enfermedad de tipo infeccioso causada por un parásito protozoo del género leishmania, transmitida por la picadura de un flebótomo infectado. Síntomas de esta enfermedad son: alopecia, dermatitis, problemas renales, pérdida de peso

My name is Bull and I live in the animal shelter of Lydia Argilés in Lleida, Spain.

I was found wondering the streets and taken to the shelter where Lydia provided me with a roof over my head, food and most important of all: unconditional love!

Soon after Lydia took me in, it became clear I was not a healthy dog. I suffer from a Rectal prolapse* which in short means that part of my rectum comes out of my butt. It’s not a painful condition, more than anything it’s just very annoying and prevents me from being a normal dog. And of course it also makes it more difficult (perhaps impossible) to find somebody who is willing to adopt me and it would mean I have to spend the rest of my life in the shelter (something that no dog should have to experience)

This medical condition can only be cured through surgery, and even though it would mean a huge expense for the shelter, Lydia was determined to do whatever it took regardless of the cost (she truly is my guardian angel)

So an appointment was made with the vet to do an intake and to plan the surgery. Unfortunately I then was diagnosed with Ehrlichia**, which meant that I had to take medication until I was cured and strong enough to undergo surgery.

When my Ehrlichia was cured after one month, I finally had my surgery and everything went really well. But when I went back to the vet a few days later for a check-up, I had huge unpleasant surprise: I was diagnosed with Leishmania***

At the moment I'm in the second part of my treatment for Leishmania, but I'm not there yet.  I still need to take different pills and powders for at least another 30 days. But I'm a really strong dog and I will get better! I've proven to be a fighter and nothing gets me down!

As you can imagine the cost of my medical treatment is pretty high and the shelter depends on donations from the public. I feel bad for putting Lydia through this, because I know she doesn't have the money to pay for everything.

That's why I'm asking if you could please look into your hearts and find a way to donate some money so we can cover the medical bills. Every little bit helps and I'll be forever grateful for your help.

* Rectal prolapse is a condition in which the rectum (the last part of the large intestine before it exits the anus) loses its normal attachments inside the body, allowing it to telescope out through the anus, thereby turning it “inside out”.  While this may be uncomfortable, it rarely results in an emergent medical problem.  However, it can be quite embarrassing and often has a significant negative impact on patients’ quality of life.

 ** Ehrlichia is a disease caused by a parasite called “Ehrlichia Canis” which is transferred through ticks. This parasite is commonly transferred via the “Brown Dog” tick, a species that very common in a country like Spain, but for example does not exist in other European countries. The symptoms of this disease are: high fever, lethargy, decrease in appetite, vomiting and anaemia.

*** Leishmania or Leishmaniasis is a tropical disease caused by a parasite called Leishmania donovanii. Sand flies of the Phlebotomus family spread these parasites through their bites. The different forms of leishmaniosis are cutaneous and visceral leishmaniasis. The parasite affects the skin and the immune cells throughout the body, resulting in severe damage and even death. The symptoms of this disease are: alopecia, skin lesions, dermatitis, nose bleeds, kidney failure and loss of weight with decreased appetite.
